Effective July 1, 1978, the Licensing Board discontinued its practice of issuing "pocket cards" to brokers and salesmen receiving original real estate licenses.
Since all original license certificates (displayed in your place of business) automatically expire on the 30th of June following issuance, it became necessary for the Board many years ago to devise a means whereby brokers, salesmen, and corporations could verify to the public on a continuing basis that they were, in fact, licensed - hence the "pocket renewal card". The issuance of such cards to new licensees, however, has been determined unnecessary in view of the fact that the license certificate itself provides sufficient proof of licensure until the first annual renewal period. Should such licensees be called upon to provide evidence that they are currently licensed, they can refer to and rely upon their license certificate to provide such evidence.
