Carolyn Denise (Dee) McCandlish
Ms. Dee McCandlish of Charlotte and Mr. A. P. Carlton of Greensboro became members of the North Carolina Real Estate Licensing Board by appointment of Governor James B. Hunt, Jr. for terms expiring July 31, 1981.
Ms. McCandlish is Regional Vice President and Manager of the Charlotte branch of First Atlantic Corporation, a mortgage banking firm.
Although she is a licensed real estate broker and member of the Charlotte Board of Realtors, her professional interests are primarily concentrated in the area of mortgage banking and in the activities of the North Carolina Home Builders Association. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of the Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas, Ms. McCandlish is also North Carolina Vice President-elect of that Association and was named Mortgage Banker of the Year for 1978 by the Mortgage Bankers Association of Charlotte. She is also Secretary/Treasurer of the North Carolina Home Builders Association and has recently received the Life Spike Designation from the Home Builders Association of Charlotte.
Ms. McCandlish is also active in Charlotte civic affairs, especially-the Big Brother/Sister program from which she received their Award of Merit.
A. P. CARLTON
Mr. Carlton, a former member and chairman of the North Carolina Real Estate Licensing Board, has been actively engaged in the real estate business for the past 20 years. Mr. Carlton attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a graduate and former dean of the REALTORS(~' Institute, and is the owner of Interstate Realty, Inc., a Greensboro firm involved in all phases of real estate brokerage and developing.
His honors and accomplishments at all levels of the REALTOR Association are many: He is a past President of the Greensboro Board, receiving their REALTOR of the Year award in 1969; he is also a past President of the North Carolina Association of REALTORS, the 1971 recipient of their REALTOR of the Year award, and has been a Director since 1968; and he is currently a Director of the National Association of REALTORS.
Mr. Carlton's civic involvements include service as Director of the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and membership on the Mayor's Committee on Housing for the City of Greensboro.
