INDEPENDENT LIVING
RESOURCE FAIR

Members of the Real Estate Commission staff participated in an Independent Living Resource Eair which Divas held in Raleigh on April 10 and 11. The Eair was sponsored by the Division of Social Services of the N.C. Department of Human Resources and was designed to offer services and activities in independent living skills to foster youth ages 16 to 21 to help them make the transition to independent living when they leave foster care.

As a part of the Eair, the Commission offered "It's Your Move" booklets to county social service representatives and representatives of other appropriate state agencies for distribution to the young adults in their foster care programs. The booklets provide basic consumer housing information to persons who may soon be purchasing homes, renting apartments, and dealing with real estate agent
